Taskforce GLM Launch Urgent Appeal for Morocco and Libya Emergencies
Taskforce GLM, the humanitarian arm of Green Lane Masjid in Birmingham, has urgently commenced action to address the pressing humanitarian crises in Morocco and Libya. In the last 72 hours of the appeals’ launch, TaskForce GLM has shared videos to raise awareness, collecting £20,000 in donations, thanks to the generous contributions of the congregation.
Taskforce GLM, aims to raise a further £10,000 over the next two weeks through Friday prayer collections, to aid those affected most by recent disasters.
To address immediate needs, a team led by one of the mosque’s imams, originally from Algeria bordering Morocco, will assess the situation on the ground to raise awareness of the priority care and donations required.
Funds raised will provide essential relief, including food, water, shelter, and medical supplies, to affected communities in Libya and Morocco.
Task Force GLM is made up of volunteers from the professional sector, who work closely with NGO charity partners, Islamic Relief. Task Force GLM extends its gratitude to all volunteers and its congregation, whilst urging the wider community to contribute to the appeal.
