Let's face it - Muslim youth are struggling and are in desperate need for the Muslim community to standup and MAKE a change. Over the past decade Green Lane Masjid have worked with 1000's of youth. From our work we see our young people CRYING OUT for help but no one is helping them!

The state of Muslim Youth

Drugs, knife crime, gang violence, rape, arrests, jail, police, destroyed lives. This is the reality of our youth. This video is a pertinent reminder to us all about the reality of our youth. Green Lane Masjid are dedicated to helping our youth and are working relentlessly in guiding our youth.

The Prophet(saw) said:

‘Enjoining, all that is good is a Sadaqah.”

 [Sahih Bukhari ]

Youth Case Study

I was betrayed and manipulated in the worst way possible by someone I loved. The ground beneath me had been yanked away, and I felt rattled. I started to suffer from intense panic attacks and bouts of anxiety. I couldn’t regain my balance. Everything suddenly felt impossible. My exams were creeping up, my parents were concerned, and I felt more distant than ever from my faith.

Our youth were crying out yesterday, you donated today, Green Lane Masjid will shape the future for our youth.

Youth Tarbiyyah Days

In 2020, we held seminars on the topic of love and romance in Islam which coincided with Valentine’s day. In a society where our youth are exposed to temptations and sin at every opportunity available, we aim to conteract and tacke this by engaging with our youth in innovative ways and guide them to the correct method of pursuing a spouse.

Youth Testimonial

“I was struggling with my deen, mental health and Muslim identity. Without delay, I was put in touch with a counsellor, and was invited to help the GLM youth team with their summer project. I cannot overstate how much this masjid has helped me. Day by day, I was able to re-build myself and that summer I found myself again. Alhamdulillah, I still wear the hijab, pray five times a day and feel proud to be a Muslim now.”

Link Up Youth Club

Our youth club primarily aimed at hard-to-reach and at-risk youth is held every weekend and includes outdoor sports, online workshops, and an online gaming tournament with ustadh Aqeel Mahmood. Over the period of two and a half months, the P2P youth workers have formed trusting relationships with the youth which has encouraged them to open up about some of the struggles and temptations they face as teens in our community.
