Al-Istighnā’ bi’l-Qur’ān
This work emphasizes the centrality of the Qur’an as the ultimate source of guidance, knowledge, and spiritual fulfillment. Ibn Rajab explains that true richness of the heart comes from depending on the Qur’an through recitation, reflection, and practice.
Qatf Ath-Thamar Fee Bayaan Aqeedat Ahl Al-Athar
“A concise yet profound book authored by Sheikh Siddiq Hasan Khan, a prominent scholar of the 13th century AH from India. The book serves as a clear and accessible exposition of the creed of Ahl al-Athar (the adherents of tradition), a term associated with those who adhere to the Quran, Sunnah, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). The book is structured as a primer on Islamic creed, addressing key theological principles while emphasising adherence to authentic scriptural sources and avoiding speculative theology.
Al-Durrar al-Bahiyyah fi al-Masa'il al-Fiqhiyyah
A book authored by Imam Muhammad ibn Ali al-Shawkani (d. 1250 AH), one of the foremost scholars of Yemen specialising in Fiqh, Hadith, and Tafsir. This book is one of his most well-known concise works, summarising key jurisprudential issues with clarity and precision.
Imam Al-Shawkani relied on scriptural evidence and avoided strict adherence to any particular madhhab .
“Al-Durrar al-Bahiyyah” has been a foundational text for many scholars and researchers in Fiqh.
It has also been explained in several commentaries, the most notable being “Al-Darari al-Mudiyyah Sharh al-Durrar al-Bahiyyah” by Imam Siddiq Hasan Khan.
Fadā’il al-Qur’ān
The work calls on Muslims to honor the Qur’an by deepening their understanding, regularly reciting its verses, and living according to its guidance in all aspects of their lives.
Fadl al-Islam
A book authored by Imam Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, one of the most influential figures in Islamic reform. The book emphasises the superiority of Islam, its principles, and its significance in unifying communities while purifying the faith from innovations and deviations.
The work emphasises the importance of adhering to the original teachings of Islam as practised by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions.
Taqreeb Al-Tadmuriyyah
Kifayat al-Muta'abbid wa Tuhfat al-Mutazahhid
(The Sufficient Guide for the Worshipper and the Gift for the Ascetic) is a book authored by Imam Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn Al-Mundhiri, a renowned hadith scholar of the 4th century AH. The book is significant in the field of asceticism (zuhd) and worship. It compiles Quranic texts and Prophetic traditions that encourage detachment from worldly pleasures, devotion to acts of worship, and focus on piety. This book serves as a spiritual guide for those seeking to develop a deeper connection with Allah through worship and ascetic practices.
40 Hadith by Al-Tusi
The work is valued for its early contribution to the tradition of forty-hadith compilations and for its clear emphasis on narrations with direct juristic relevance.
Mandhumat Usul al-Fiqh wa Qawa'iduh
(The Poem on the Principles and Rules of Fiqh) is a poetic work on the principles of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh) and its legal maxims, authored by Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him), one of the most prominent scholars of Saudi Arabia in the modern era. This poem reflects his ability to simplify Islamic sciences and make them accessible to students through a structured and easy-to-memorise format. The poem has been explained in several commentaries by scholars and students of knowledge, with the most notable commentary being by Shaykh al-Uthaymin himself in his lectures, where he elaborated on the meanings of the verses and provided practical examples and clarifications.
Risaalat Ibn Al-Qayyim
The book stands out for its heartfelt tone and emphasis on inner reform, serving as a practical and inspiring manual that reminds readers of the path to spiritual clarity and closeness to Allah. Its wisdom and eloquence have made it one of Ibn al-Qayyim’s most beloved and widely read works.
Al-Tadhkira fi 'Ulum al-Hadith
(“The Reminder in the Sciences of Hadith”) is a book authored by Imam Badr al-Din Abu Hafs Umar ibn Ali ibn Ahmad al-Shafi’i, famously known as Al-Mulaqin (723–804 AH). This book is regarded as an essential introduction to the science of Hadith, focusing on its principles, terminology, and methodologies. Imam Al-Mulaqin’s work has had a lasting impact on the study and teaching of hadith sciences. His concise and systematic presentation makes the book a timeless resource for Islamic scholarship. The principles and methodologies outlined in “Al-Tadhkira fi ‘Ulum al-Hadith” are still studied in Islamic institutions worldwide, reflecting its enduring relevance.
Al-Bayquniyyah
Widely studied in Islamic educational institutions, Al-Bayquniyyah provides beginning students with a solid foundation in the science of Mustalah al-Hadith (Hadith terminology). It offers a clear and organized framework that helps learners understand the key concepts and principles used to evaluate and classify Hadith.
