As one of the few humanitarian agencies that have received permission from the Rakhine State government to distribute emergency relief in Maung Daw township, Human Appeal was able to utilise the support of GLM to distribute essential food and non-food items to those affected by the violence, in addition to providing medical care. Health experts found that many of the beneficiaries were suffering from malaria, fever, diarrhea, dysentery and malnutrition. Children and older people were particularly affected; medicines such as oral saline, blood pressure tablets, vitamin tablets and nutritional supplements were highly beneficial.
