Shaykh Shaqur Rehman

Shaykh
Shaqur Rehman

Shaykh Shaqur Rehman Has completed a PGCE along with an MA in Applied Linguistics. He preceded his secular studies with a traditional Islamic education beginning in Egypt in 1999-2001. He has over 8 years’ experience as a Qadhi and has recently completed a nationally recognised mediator training.

He has taught English in various universities in Syria and Saudi Arabia. During his Islamic studies, he managed to memorise the Holy Qur’an and attain authorisation (Ijaza) in recitation and various Islamic sciences including theology and jurisprudence.

Shaykh Shaqur has since become an Imam in London, worked with the community and has been through years of training to become a Qadhi for various family law case types at Islamic Council (previously the Islamic Council of Europe). With a solid grounding in resolving marital disputes the Shaykh now delivers seminars and courses across the UK on various topics related to family issues including marriage, parental advice and intimacy.

Ustadha Rahma Abdulatif Has completed a PGDip in integrated psychotherapy and an MA in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy, and is a clinical supervisor. She has worked several years with individuals, couples, and families presenting social, emotional, and mental health needs within hospital and community settings.

She is a researcher in issues of cross-cultural practice with a specific interest of providing therapy to families that is suitable and fits their cultural contexts and backgrounds. She registered with AFT (Association for Family Therapy & Systemic Practice) and UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy)
