BACKGROUND TO GLMCC:
Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre is a leading UK mosque situated in the heart of Birmingham serving
the community since 1979. Operating from its award-winning grade II listed Victorian building, GLMCC fulfils its
mission of inspiring, educating and serving through its educational college, outreach work, welfare services,
youth work, international humanitarian wing, as well as its fully functional mosque which is attended by thousands
every week
1. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
GLMCC are looking for Madrasah Qur’an Teachers who are passionate, hardworking, and professional. We are seeking individuals who are able to encourage and inspire students to love the Qur’an, and who have the personal drive and energy to motivate and support them in their learning. Teachers will also have the opportunity to work remotely, with the added benefit of flexibility, professional support, and the chance to make a real impact in the lives of students.
2. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE ROLE
Teaching and Delivering Lessons
• To provide an appropriately broad, balanced, and differentiated learning experience for students, in accordance with the aims of the madrasah and the curriculum.
• To ensure commitment to an Islamic ethos and set of values to secure high-quality learning, effective use of resources, and improvement in standards of learning and achievement for all students.
•To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students.
• Undertake the main professional duties of a teacher.
• Promote and support all madrasah and masjid policies.
• Commit to continuing personal professional development.
• Deliver lessons effectively in an online setting, ensuring engagement and accessibility for all students while making use of digital tools and resources.
Health, Safety and Discipline:
• Promote safeguarding
• Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils
• Maintain good order and discipline in pupils, managing behaviour effectively,
to ensure a good and safe learning environment

Hafidh Al-Qur’an or a qualification in Tajweed

Evidence of relevant and recent training and experience of teaching young people
