Aqeedah

Haa’iyah by Ibn Abi Dawood is a concise yet profound poetic treatise that outlines the core beliefs of Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah. Composed in eloquent Arabic verse, it serves as a clear and accessible summary of orthodox Sunni creed, touching on themes such as belief in Allah’s attributes, submission to divine decree, love for the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and opposition to deviant sects. Written by the son of the renowned hadith speaker Abu Dawood, this poem reflects both scholarly precision and deep spiritual insight. Revered for its clarity and brevity, Haa’iyah has been memorized and studied by students of knowledge across generations as a foundational text in Islamic creed (Aqeedah).

Safīnat al‑Najāh

Safīnat al‑Najāh is a concise instructional manual in clear Arabic, summarising the essential principles of Islamic creed and jurisprudence according to the Shāfiʿī madhhab. It systematically covers foundational topics such as purification (ṭahāra), prayer (ṣalāh), fasting (ṣawm), zakāh, as well as fundamental beliefs concerning tawḥīd, the pillars of faith, and basics of Islam. Written in a didactic poetic style to facilitate memorisation, the text is widely used in traditional education settings, especially in madāris or circles, and serves as a first step towards understanding the Shāfiʿī approach to worship. Its concise format makes it accessible to students and learners as a clear roadmap to practical piety rooted in the madhhab’s methodology.

Hadith

The Forty Hadith of Imam Nawawi” is a celebrated collection of forty-two hadiths compiled by the great 7th-century Shafi’i scholar, Imam Yahya ibn Sharaf al-Nawawi. Carefully selected for their comprehensiveness and foundational relevance, these hadiths cover essential themes in Islam such as intention, sincerity, legal rulings, ethics, worship, and interpersonal conduct. Each hadith serves as a pivotal principle of the religion, with many scholars praising the collection as a summary of the core teachings of Islam. Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali, a notable 8th-century scholar, expanded upon Imam Nawawi’s work by adding 8 more hadiths, bringing the total to 50. His additions continue the thematic trajectory of the original collection—highlighting sincerity, reliance on Allah, the rights of others, and the path to Paradise. In his commentary, Jāmi‘ al-‘Ulūm wal-Ḥikam, Ibn Rajab not only explains the meanings of these hadiths with great depth and clarity but also integrates the wisdom of earlier scholars, Qur’anic parallels, and practical applications. His expansion is widely appreciated for enriching the spiritual and intellectual impact of Nawawi’s original compilation.
